Creating Excel Data Links Using Drag-and-Drop
.Make sure that the Excel workbook folder is not only open, but also selected in the Folders window so that you can see its contents in the Object List.
.Select a cell range in the Excel workbook containing data to which you would like to create one or more links. If above the data there is a title row with column names and, if applicable, attached physical units, you should include this row into the selection.
.Move the mouse to the edge of the selection. The shape of the mouse cursor changes from the cell cursor to an arrow cursor.
.Hold down the left mouse button and drag the range down to the Object List. A plus symbol now appears on the mouse arrow. If this symbol does not appear, then you should check if the correct folder is selected in the folder window.
.Release the mouse button. A dialog box appears where you can specify how the Excel data links are to be created.
.Check all settings and request further help in the dialog box, if necessary.
