HTML Export Wizard

The HTML Export Wizard helps you export your documentation to HTML format.

Before you call up the Wizard, you must select the objects to be exported from the Object List. You can select individual objects or folders. To export a complete FlexPro database, you have to select the root folder in the Folders window.

The first step of the Wizard only appears if you have selected at least one folder. This is where you specify which objects in the folders selected are to be exported.

In the second step, you can set various options for the export.

You can create a web with a table of contents, choosing from three options. The static table of contents only requires pure HTML, whereas the three hierarchical variants are based on ActiveX, Java or Java Script.

In the case of tables and text, you can specify whether they are to be output as images or in HTML format. When outputting as HTML, the appearance in the browser might differ slightly from the original. The advantage, however, is that text passages are preserved as they are.

For formulas and data sets, you can specify whether only the header information, such as comments and units, or all of the data are to be exported. Since data sets in FlexPro can be very large, the number of lines per HTML page as well as the maximum number of pages per object can be restricted.

HTML Export uses a separate HTML template for each object type. The template contains fields that are replaced by the object's data. Here you can specify the hard drive folder from which the templates are to be taken.

Documents, worksheets, diagrams and, if applicable, tables and texts are exported as images in PNG (Portable Network Graphic) format. The resolution of the image should correspond roughly to that of the screen. This means that the objects are then represented in their original size in the browser.

If you only specify the folder containing the exported web as the address in the browser, the HTML Server automatically searches for an HTML file with a particular name such as "default.htm" or "index.html" and then displays it in the browser. This is why you can change here. The name required for this default file depends on the HTML server. This is why you can change here.
