Data File Import Wizard
The Data File Import Wizard assists you when importing data sets from measurement data files.
Properties step (optional)
Some import filters require additional information besides the file name to interpret the data correctly.
On this page of the wizard you will then be shown a list of properties whose values you must enter correctly.
Channel selection step
This page lists all the channels found in the file. Each entry has a set of attributes associated with it that you can edit:
Column |
Description |
---|---|
Name |
The name under which the corresponding data set is stored. |
Description |
An optional comment on the data set. |
Channel |
The channel number of the record in the file (cannot be changed) |
X component |
The name of a data set with X data that you want to assign to a data set. |
Format |
A formatter to be assigned to the data set. This then determines, for example, how the data are displayed in tables. |
Curve color |
A curve color to be assigned to the data set. This then determines, for example, how the data are displayed in diagrams. |
Post-processing |
An FPScript expression with which you can process the imported data before it is stored as a data record. The variable data represents the imported data. |
Note: You can change an attribute for multiple data sets by selecting a range of entries in the corresponding column of the list while holding down the SHIFT key, or by selecting individual entries while holding down the CTRL key and then holding down the CTRL key while expanding the list box.
Import schema
Note: Import schemas include all settings such as channel selection, format, curve color, post-processing, etc. They can be used exclusively for the selected file format.
In the Import Schema list box you can select a previously saved import schema or save the current settings as a new import schema with Save Schema . You can use Organizer to edit the schemas or transfer them from one project database to another. You can also export or import a schema as an XML file.
A file-based import schema saved as an XML file can also be used on other computers. To do this you only have to copy the file to the following folder: C:\ProgramData\Weisang\FlexPro\2021\Templates\Import\Schema.
Channel Selection Filters
Note: Channel selection filters contain only the channel selection. They can be used for any file formats.
In the Channel Selection Filter list box you can select a previously saved channel selection filter or save the current selection as a new channel selection filter with Save Selection . You can use Organizer to edit the channel selection filters or transfer them from one project database to another. You can import or export a channel selection filter as a file as well.
