Document Wizard

23.08.2021

The Document Wizard assists you when creating new documents. You can either create a blank document or choose a previously saved document template.

In addition to static objects, such as images, the document templates can contain object links, such as a linked diagram or linked data objects for the curves of an embedded diagram. Before you launch the wizard, you should select the objects you want replaced, as long as the selected template contains these types of links. Links are assigned to the selected objects, if possible.

Standard

To create a blank document, select this tab and then click Finish.

From Template

In the first step of the wizard, first select the template database containing a template to be used and then select the preferred template. FlexPro now replaces the links in the template with the objects selected in the Object List and displays the result in the Preview pane.

If you click on the option Exact object assignment by name, comment or category, then only the objects will replaced whose names either match the name of the object link in the template or whose comments or category match the descriptions specified in the column Used as when the template is saved. Otherwise, a distinction is only made between the data object and presentation object object types during the assignment, and the objects are assigned in the order in which they appear in the Object List. If necessary, resort them before launching the wizard.

In the optional second step of the wizard, specify, or if necessary correct, the object assignments, or clear the missing assignments.
